Believe it or not, even the best beaches and the tallest mountains would not impress an adventure seeker as much as river rafting, skydiving, or say, bungee jumping. If that sounds like you, then it is time to visit Costa Rica. You could live in the country for many years and still not be able to explore all of its adventure, because the possibilities are so rich in variety. What if you are here for only a few days on a vacation? We know you will come back for more. For this time, don’t miss the following few activities:

Canopy Tours

How amazing was it to watch Tarzan swing through the jungle using a network of vines? Well, if you wished you could trade places with him, now is the time because Costa Rica lets you have an almost Tarzanesque experience for yourself. Opt for any of the canopy tours available all across the country and you can use zip-lines to move through the treetops. Usually, you must first climb using ascenders and then strap a harness that lets you zip from one treetop to another while dangling from a cable.

Canyoning

You can’t call yourself a thrill-seeker until you’ve tried canyoning in Costa Rica. Though it’s not exactly standardized, this adventure sport involves hiking along and through the creeks and rivers of steep mountain canyons, with regular breaks to rappel down the face of a waterfall, float down a small-sized rapid, or leap off a boulder into a jungle pool. Sounds crazy, right? That’s because it is!

Surfing

The Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica, located in the northwestern part of the country, is comprised of numerous reef breaks and beaches from Playa Nosara to Witch’s Rock. If you’re in the mood to find your own secret spot, rent a four-by-four, load your boards, and begin exploring.

Mountain Biking

There are many cattle paths and back roads in the country that mountain bikers can explore. The tours have varying difficulty levels and lengths.

White Water Rafting

If you’re experienced at rafting and wish to test your mettle, try the Upper Reventazon River. However, if you’re a novice, a two-day trip on the Pacuare River would be perfect for you. You would get to see beautiful steep gorges and explore forests.

Costa Rica has a seemingly endless array of amazing experiences to offer. If you wish to be a part of them and create thrilling memories that’ll last you a lifetime, there no better starting point than Arenal Hills.
